A Panel Discussion

As part of the project, Subrang Arts did numerous outreach activities, one of which was participating in the South Asian Heritage Month 2021 celebrations. SAHM seeks to raise the profile of British South Asian heritage and history in the UK through education, arts, culture, and commemoration with the goal of helping people to better understand the diversity of present day Britain and show influences in numerous areas.

 

Here is a  panel discussion by Lata Desai and  Rolf Killius (Curators), Sushma Jansari (Tabor Foundation curator at British Museum), Mohammed Keshavjee (International lawyer) and Sheena Patel (Researcher) led by Tiya Dahyabhai (Museums lead at SAHM).

Preserving Musical Heritage 

A British-born young Gujarati singer Bhavik Haria presented a beautiful virtual 'Bhajan' concert from the Sanatan Hindu temple, Wembley showcasing the rich musical roots of Bhajans and how it has evolved over the years in modern day Britain.
